MARTINEZ, Ga. - Mr. William Henry Billy Bugg, Jr., 85, of Martinez, Georgia, husband of Juanita Whitehead Bugg of 65 years, entered into rest on Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, May 7, 2012 in the Platt's Belair Road Chapel with Reverend Bill Hilley, Reverend Terry Taylor and Reverend Ed Cagle officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mr. Bugg was born in Augusta, Georgia on December 9, 1926, to William Henry Bugg, Sr. and Lillian Cadle Bugg. He was educated in Augusta, Georgia, Tallulah Falls, Georgia, and Charleston, South Carolina, and received a degree from Hurst Business College. Mr. Bugg was passionate about music and his love for people. He sang in Augusta, Georgia, Charleston, South Carolina, and many other venues around the Southeast. He was surrounded by many friends and admirers. Mr. Bugg served in the Navy during World War II. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Juanita, of Martinez, Georgia; four children, Mrs. Teresa Taylor (Terry) of Graniteville, South Carolina, Mr. Michael Bugg (Cynthia) of Martinez, Georgia, Mr. Bert Bugg (Kathy) of Augusta, Georgia, Mr. Matt Bugg (Betty) of Grovetown, Georgia; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Barbara Wilson (Curtis) of Hiawassee, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mrs. Lucile Whiteford, of Gainesville, Florida. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 7, 2012, from 12:00 Noon until the hour of services at Platt's Belair Road. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, 4945 Hardy McManus Road, Evans, Georgia 30809.
