AUGUSTA, Ga. - William Alfred "Bill" Coleman, 86, husband of 66 years to Mitzie Coleman, entered into rest Friday, August 7, 2015, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at 2:00 PM, from the Storey Chapel of First Baptist Church of Augusta with Dr. Greg DeLoach and Reverend Andy Jones officiating. Mr. Coleman, son of the late Daniel William and Lottie Smith Coleman, was born in Charleston, SC. He co-owned Wren Mobile Homes, and worked at Bowman Transportation and Dymo Products before retiring as a truck driver from Club Car. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Jim Hicks Sunday School Class. He was a Deacon and served on the Benevolence Ministry for ten years. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Chris Badke. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Bobby Coleman (Debbie), of Ft. Pierce, FL, and Daniel Coleman II (Michelle), of Harlem, GA; his daughters, Theresa Chavis (Larry), of Augusta, Carolyn Gertler (Charles), also of Augusta, and Shirley Badke (Jeff), of Hephzibah; his grandchildren, Troy Chavis, Angela Cushman, David Coleman, Daniel Coleman, Clay Coleman, Joe Badke, Kasey Ascani, and Michael Scott Coleman; eight great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Daniel Coleman, of Charleston, SC, and Francis X. Coleman, also of Charleston. Honorary pallbearers will be members of The Benevolence Ministry of First Baptist Church of Augusta. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Augusta, 3500 Walton Way Ext., Augusta, GA 30909; or to the Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation, 3614 J Dewey Gray Circle, Augusta, GA 30909. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 11, 2015, from 1:00 PM until the hour of service at the Storey Chapel of First Baptist Church of Augusta.
