SARDIS, Ga. - William David Billy Cullen 83, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015 at University Hospital. Mr. Cullen was a native and lifelong resident of Burke County. He was a member of the Sardis United Methodist Church for over 50 years, member of the American Legion, the Alexander Masonic Lodge #385, veteran of the United States Air Force and was retired from Savannah River Site after 40 years of service. Surviving are his sisters, Hazel Bennett, Geraldine Stokes, Jackie Bowles, Bernice Reed, Juanita Elliott and his brother Thomas W. Cullen. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews. Mr. Billy dedicated his life caring for five of his younger siblings. Funeral Services will be 12 noon, Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Sardis United Methodist Church with the Reverend Steve Sirmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Sardis Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Active Pallbearers will be Bill Elliott, Tommy Bristow, Richard Godbee, Arthur Long, Kerry Scott and Elliott Robinson.
