TRENTON, S.C. - Mr. William "Billy" Stevens, of Edgefield Road, son of the late Alvin Stevens, Sr. and Ollie Bettis Stevens, entered into rest Sunday, January 24, 2016. Funeral service will be held on February 6, 2016 at Zion Cathedral Church of God in Freeport, NY. Interment will be in Greenfield Cemetery in Uniondale, NY. He attended Bettis Academy and was a 1956 graduate of Edgefield County High School. He was owner and operator of Billy's Barbershop in Hempstead, NY, where he was honored by the Village of Hempstead for 40 years of service. He served in the U. S. Army. Survivors include two daughters, Regina Stevens Burnett, Hempstead, NY and Tamisha Stevens-Vogt, Freeport, NY; a sister, Jean Stevens, Augusta, GA; four brothers, John (Minnie) Steven, Ralph Steven, Patrick Stevens, Trenton, SC and Robert Stevens, North Augusta, SC; two aunts, Lucille Bettis Beaubian, Trenton, SC and Evelyn Stevens Butler, New York; two grandchildren, Tashawn Vogt and Gerard Burnett, Jr.; a host of other relatives and friends.
