FLORENCE, S.C. - William Thomas Anderson, 65, died, Sunday, January 26, 2003, at his residence after an illness. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2003, in Waters-Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. He was born in Augusta, a son of the late Harry K. and Annie Bell Smith Anderson. In 1955, he graduated from Richmond Academy and joined the U.S. Navy, where he served on the U.S.S. Yorktown as an electronics technician, and was captain of the drill team. After leaving the Navy in 1959, he began his career with IBM. He retired after 37 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara McCaslan Anderson of Florence, two sons, Barry (Sharon) Anderson of Beaufort, S.C., and Randy (Amanda) Anderson of Charleston, S.C.; one brother, Harry King Anderson, Jr., of Dublin, Ga.; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Leah, Kari and Sara Anderson of Beaufort, S.C.; and Caleb Anderson of Charleston. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven T. Anderson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Pee Dee, 555 E.
