McCORMICK, S.C. - Mr. Willie J. Perrin, Sr., age 84, husband of Mrs. Ada Talbert Perrin, died at Lake Crossing Nursing Home in Appling, GA on August 6, 2015. He was born in McCormick, S.C., a son of the late George and Fannie Mae Traylor Perrin and reared by his mother, Mrs. Alma Wardlaw Perrin. He was owner of Perrin s Exxon of McCormick for fifty years and was involved in all civic and church activities within the county. He was the recipient of the Order of the Silver Crescent of the state of South Carolina; a board member of the Upper Savannah Council of Government; McCormick County Chamber of Commerce, Council on Aging, McCormick Housing Authority, and the Rotary Club. He is survived by his wife of 66 years of the home; son, Willie Joe Perrin, Jr. (Kathryn); son, Calvin Perrin (Shelia); son, Jerome Perrin; three grandchildren: Kenneith Perrin, Shandara Perrin, and Tavior Tempson and five great-grandchildren; two sisters: Classie Freeman of Washington, D.C. and Maggie Sue Peyton of McCormick, S.C.; brother, Willie Franklin (Janie Bell) of Philadelphia, PA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family members and friends. Funeral services are Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church of McCormick with the Pastor Rev. Clifford Jackson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family is at the home of a son, Calvin Perrin, at 113 Spring Meadow Road in McCormick. Services are entrusted to Walker Funeral Home.
