AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Sara Petway, 95, beloved wife and mother, entered into rest Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Brandon Wilde. Mrs. Petway received her nursing degree from Saint Joseph's School of Nursing and her Nurse Anesthetist degree from Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was always proud of her profession and enjoyed being able to work alongside many fine physicians in the Atlanta area. She lived in Atlanta prior to moving to Augusta in the late 1980's to be near her children whom she loved dearly. Sara, affectionately known as Woo Woo, enjoyed life and brought joy and laughter to everyone she met. Her family was her first priority and she loved seeing them. Among her many interests were sewing, cooking, and fishing. She especially enjoyed spending time at Lake Burton with her family. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Petway, and daughter, Peggy Moore. She leaves to cherish her memory; her daughters Cathy Mulherin (Brian Jr.), Sally Patton (Tommy); grandchildren: Bo Moore, Ben Moore, Jay Crook, Josh Crook, Jessica Parks, Will Patton, Andy Patton; and seven great grandchildren. The family would like to especially thank the many caregivers at Brandon Wilde for the excellent care they extended to Sara for the past fourteen years. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Church of the Good Shepherd with The Rev. Robert D. Fain officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Church of the Good Shepherd, 2230 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904.
