WRENS, Ga. - Sybil Jean Thompson Roberson, 84, loving wife of 64 years to the late Masey Gaston Bo Roberson Jr., went home to be with her Lord Tuesday evening, April 22, 2014 from her residence while surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, Thursday, April 24, 2014 in the James Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Stan Littleton officiating. Interment will follow in the Wrens Memorial Cemetery. Sybil was one of two children born in Vidette to the late Julia "Pearl" Rowland Thompson Smith and the late W. E. Thompson Sr. She graduated from Wrens High School, attended Georgia Southern where she met and married the love of her life, and was a member of Wrens United Methodist Church. She spent most of her time taking care of her family. In her younger years, she and her family enjoyed camping, travelling all over the US and to all the space launches. Sybil's greatest pleasure was being with her family and making great memories. Even though she will be greatly missed, there is comfort knowing she is with Jesus and is now reunited with her husband after a four-month separation. Sybil is also preceded in death by her brother, W. E. Billy Thompson, Jr. Survivors include her two children, Rosemary R. Wren (William) and Philip J. Roberson (Lisa); four grandchildren, Will Wren (Ashley), Rob Wren (Dana), Drew Wren (Emily) and Frank Roberson; two great grandchildren, Harrison Bo Wren and Olivia Bay Wren; sister-in-law, Sarah Thompson Falaw; niece, Sandra T. Weiss (Bruce); nephews, Bill Thompson, Jimmy Cunningham (Donna) and Joe Cunningham (Jean); her life-long friend, Mrs. Betty Brannen; and many other friends. Pallbearers will be Charles Milburn, John Murphy, Johnny Rabun, Ronnie Rogers, Ed Sheppard and Miller Weeks. The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home Thursday, April 24, 2014 prior to the funeral services from 11:30AM - 12:45PM. The family respectfully requests memorial contributions to be made to Wrens United Methodist Church, 202 Russell St., Wrens GA 30833. The family wishes to thank Kellie and the staff of United Hospice, Dr. Nancy Cox and her staff, as well as Iris, Lynn, Martha, Diane and others who helped make Sybil's last days peaceful.
