Roy Davis

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Roy Dean Davis 88, husband of Karen Barrs Davis, entered into rest Monday, March 9, 2015 at Trinity Hospital. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 2:00 PM, in the Community Center 1812 Liberty Falls, Grovetown, GA with Reverend Tim Carnes officiating. Interment will be private. Mr. Davis was born in Tacoma, WA to the late Lenard and Ann Theusch Davis. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lenard Davis, Jr., step-mother, Alma Davis, and his step-brother, Kenneth Bartlett. Roy retired as a Civil Service Training Specialist at Fort Gordon after thirty years of service. He was a US Army veteran and had served in the Merchant Marines. He was a member of St. John United Methodist Church of Augusta and a former member of the Green Meadows Country Club. Traveling to Alaska and golfing were two of his favorite past times. Other survivors include his sister, Adella Soom and her husband Frank of Kelso, WA and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Davis of Lakewood, WA. Roy was loved by many additional family members including sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
