EDGEFIELD, S.C. - Mr. Dale Francis Moseley of 7444 Augusta Road, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at his residence. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 26th from 3:00-5:00 pm at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 27th at 11:00 am at the Edgefield United Methodist Church. The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Epworth Children's Home, PO Box 50466, Columbia, SC 29250. Dale was born on August 22, 1922 in McCormick, SC to Henry Thomas Moseley and Leila Wideman Moseley. As a young man he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and worked at Sequoia National Park in CA. He served in World War II as a gunner's mate aboard the USS Barnes, CVE-20. Afterwards, he and Mary married and reared their children in Edgefield. In 1988, he retired from Graniteville Company after 46 years of service. He was member of the American Legion Post #30 and Edgefield United Methodist Church where he was a Lay Speaker and Sunday School teacher. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lee McCullough Moseley, children, Kenneth Dale (Lori) Moseley of Miramar, FL, Loyd Brogdon Moseley and Patricia Ann Moseley of Edgefield, grandchildren, Alexis Lauren Moseley and Jonathon Cohen Moseley of Miramar, FL and sisters, Annie Davis of Charlotte, NC and Mary (Jimmy) Edmunds of McCormick, SC as well as nieces and nephews.
