Army Spec. FORT BLISS, Texas - Army Spec. Matthew J. Hodges, 26, entered into rest on May, 19, 2011 at Fort Bliss, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May, 26, 2011 at 11:30 am at Platt's Belair Road Chapel with the Rev. Michael Roverse officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Bellevue Memorial Park. Spec. Hodges was a native of Columbia County, where he attended Evans High School. He had been in the United States Army for three years, and had served a tour of duty in Iraq. He was the 5th generation of his family to serve in combat. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca, his father, William Hodges, his mother, Theressa Padgett, and four brothers, William Michael Hodges III, and wife, Patsy, Robert Wayne Hodges, and wife, Stephanie, Christopher Michael Hodges and wife, Judith, and Charles Andrew Hodges.
