NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Thomas Gamblin, age 48, passed away on Thursday, November 24th, 2011 of a heart attack in Chicago, IL, while doing one of the things in life he truly enjoyed-Running. He was born on January 16, 1963 to Alma F. Price and Thomas Gamblin, Sr., in Fullerton, California. He joined the Army in 1983, where he worked in the service of our country for 28 years, with many honors. Tom was a Sergeant First Class, in the United States Army, serving as a Foreign Security Forces Combat Advisor. In his military career, he has served in the First Ranger Battalion, the Special Forces, and in other various Special Operations units. Tom earned his degrees in Psychology and Educational Leadership. He was also currently a teacher and cross country coach at Richmond Academy. Tom is survived by his wife, Suzette, and their sons, Austin and Thorn. In addition, he leaves behind brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces/nephews, and cousins. Tom's memorial service will be held at The Julian Smith Barbecue Pit located at 3 Milledge Road at Lake Olmstead Park in Augusta, Georgia on Sunday, December the 4th. The service will be from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. If you would like to celebrate his life with us you are welcome to attend with his family, close friends, co-workers, fellow service members, and students.
