AUGUSTA, Ga. - Surrounded by family, Nucia passed away peacefully on March 23, 2012, at Palliative Care, University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. Born in Augusta on November 4, 1925 to Guy and Lydia Hurlbutt, she leaves behind her beloved husband of 58 years, Earl. She was a devoted and loving mother to her two daughters, Melinda (Charles Sanders) and Martha (Steven Bryant) and a proud 'Gramma' to Lauren and Ben Sanders and Caroline and Matthew James Bryant. She is also survived by her sister Marjorie Cheshire of Southern Pines, N.C. and her brother Guy Hurlbutt of Boise, ID. Another brother, Boris Hurlbutt of Walterboro, S.C. preceded her in death. Her home was filled with paintings, among which a plaque, Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much. She did indeed live well, with caring, kindness and forgiveness. She laughed often, bringing smiles and love and happiness to all she met, every day of her life. She loved much, her family, her friends and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The family wishes to give their thanks to the staff at University Hospital, most especially to nurse Laura of the Palliative Care unit for the loving and dedicated care at the end of her life.
