GROVETOWN, Ga. - Gladys B. Fleming, 98, of Grovetown, entered into rest at her residence on Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Gladys was born to the late William Cleveland Bugg and Roxie Brumbeloe Bugg, May 10, 1913 in Augusta, GA and was married to the late George F. Fleming. She lived the majority of her life in Grovetown, GA. Gladys was an active member of Grovetown United Methodist Church (which was founded by her grandfather) , Order of the Eastern Star, Grovetown Senior Centre and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She loved to travel, sing in the choir, can preserves and make her famous pound cake. Gladys is survived by four children: Kathryn Whisenhunt and her husband Fred ; India Barrow Obafial and her husband Jun; Georgia Gladden and her husband Bill ; and Virginia Bondurant She also is survived by thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great- grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her stepson George F. Fleming, Jr. and her stepdaughter Doris Wiseburn. The family wishes to express special thanks to her granddaughter, Pamela Cowles, for her devotion and care in the last months of her life. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Grovetown Methodist Church 206 E. Robinson Ave Grovetown, GA 30813 or Denard/Lantier Scholarship Fund of Atlanta 18 United Daughter of Confederacy, Attn. Chapter Treasurer, 1329 Wansley Lane, Sugar Hill, GA 30518-4747. Please mark in memory of Gladys Fleming. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday April 27, 2012 at Grovetown Methodist. Grandsons James William Billy Barrow, Jr and Charles Kelly Barrow will assist Rev. Joshua Carr with the service. The family will receive friends at Grovetown United Methodist Church from 1pm until the hour of service.
