GREENWOOD, S.C. - David Edward Hawkins, 55, died Saturday, October 13, 2012 from injuries received in a motorcycle accident. Born in Arlington, MA, he was a son of the late Edward and Lois Hutchinson Hawkins. He was the owner, operator and CEO of Refrigeration Services, had served in the US Army and was a member of the Local 188 Union in Savannah. David was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots. Surviving is his son, Ryan David Hawkins of Greenwood; his daughter, Stephanie Benton and her husband, Jimmy, of North Augusta; sisters, Janet Flynn of Florida, Beverly Teel of Venice, FL and Barbara Dorrington of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Callie Hawkins of Greenwood and Brooke Benton of North Augusta; his former spouse, Mitzi Hawkins of Greenwood and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oakbrook Memorial Park with the Rev. Dennis Reynolds and the Rev. Zeb Young officiating. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Benton, Jimmy Nix, Anthony Brown, Tony Cromer, Bump Yonce, Kenny Waite, Howard Moore, Duane Sheley and Randy Butler. Honorary escort will be members of the Band of Brothers, The Warlocks, Bikers for Christ, Southern Road and Greenwood Motorcycle Clubs along with Sam Allen, Mark Weathers, Kenny Boyles and Ronnie Flynn and will leave in a procession from Harley Funeral Home at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday to Oakbrook.
