NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Memorial Services for Mr. Richard Charles Irons, 75, of Bama Avenue, who entered into rest January 11, 2013, will be conducted Friday afternoon, January 25, 2013 at 3 o'clock from the Metropolitan Community Church of Our Redeemer. Rev. Lisa Heilig and Rev. Jeff Pulliam officiating. Interment in M. J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery, Anderson, SC at a later date. Mr. Irons was a native of Pensacola, FL having made the CSRA his home for the past 27 years. He was a graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana, a Veteran of the U. S. Navy and retired from Westinghouse Savannah River Site. Mr. Irons attended the Metropolitan Community Church of Our Redeemer and was a former member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church in Aiken where he served as Senior Warden for many years. Survivors include his wife, Mary Deirdre Irons; two sons, Kevin Lee Irons, Alexandria, VA and Scott Allan Irons, Port Alexander, AK; one daughter, Jennifer Irons Carrick, Augusta; two grandchildren, Nicole Finnegan and John J. Carrick, V; two great-grandchildren, Noah Finnegan and Makinley Finnegan; one brother, Hayes Irons, Whitestone, NY. The family will host a reception and receive friends at the church following the Memorial Service. Memorials may be made to the Downtown Cooperative Church Ministries, Inc., (Food Pantry) P. O.
