COOPER CITY, Fla. - Mrs. Carolyn Johnson Odom, 90, of Cooper City, Florida, died Saturday, June 15, 2013, at the Florida Medical Center, following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, June 20, 2013, in the Chapel of Dukes-Harley Funeral Home, with the Reverend Shane Studsman officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. She was born August 10, 1922, in Dearing Ga., a daughter of the late William C. Johnson and Emmie Virginia Clark Johnson. The former Orangeburg, SC resident had been a resident of Cooper City, Florida since 1983. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Miami. Carolyn enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Survivors are two daughters, Linda Cope of Cooper City, Florida, and Susan Jaques and her husband Richard of Mt Dora Fla.; a son, Garland Odom and his wife Wanda of Pinson, Alabama; six grandchildren, Richard Odom and his wife Luanne of McKinney, Texas, Deanna Krack and her husband Norman of Pinson, Alabama, Allison Rice and her husband Daniel of Lacombe, Louisiana, Wendy Gammon and her husband Steve of Hollywood, Florida, Kristen Cope of Palm Beach, Florida, and Clint Odom of Chicago, Illinois; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Murray Odom and a son, Charles Thomas Odom. Dukes-Harley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
