Pet Milk Retiree
RAYLE, Ga. - Mr. Calton "Pete" Poss, 71, of Bartram Trace Rd., entered into rest on Saturday, June 29th at Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center, Augusta. Mr. Poss, a native of Wilkes County, was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and retired after over 30 years of service as a route driver for Pet Milk Company. Also, he was a truck driver for Mar-Leta Farms, Steed Dairy and most recently was employed as a caretaker for Miller Farms. He was a member of Anthony Chapel United Methodist Church. His parents, H.M. and Sally Poss; brothers, Grady Poss, Charles Poss and sister, Flora Smith preceded him in death. Survivors: spouse, Marie Poss; son, Tal Poss and wife Melynda; daughter, Dena Poss Gibson and husband Jody; grandchildren, Kathryn Chamblin Poss, Neeley Marie Gibson, Charles Adam Poss, Cash Alvin Gibson, Carlin Jodi Gibson and Russell Calton Gibson, all of Lincolnton; brothers, Franklin Poss, Austell, GA and Wayne Poss, Rayle, GA; sisters, Kathrine Shedd and Peggy Walker, Rayle, GA. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 2nd at 11 a.m. at Anthony Chapel United Methodist Cemetery with Rev. David Bohling officiating.
