DEARING, Ga. - Mrs. Elizabeth Whitaker Adams, 95, of Fort Creek Road entered into rest June 30, 2013 at Thomson Health and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the Dearing Baptist Church with Rev. Jon Richards officiating. Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Mrs. Adams was born in Columbia County, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Albert Whitaker and the late Bessie Louise Eubanks Whitaker. She was a homemaker and owned and operated the Dearing Supermarket for 27 years. Mrs. Adams was a faithful and devoted member of Dearing Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, Bible School and was active in WMU. She was also a member of the Dearing Garden Club. Survivors include her sons, Richard Adams and wife, Liz, Raymond Adams and wife, Reba, Donald Adams and wife, Laura; daughter, Jane A. Richards and husband, Jon; sister, Faye Kitchens all of Dearing, GA; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Ray Adams. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the funeral home. Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
