AUGUSTA, Ga. - Elizabeth C. Lowery, 93, wife of the late James Russell Lowery, entered into rest, Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Stevens Park Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 17, 2013, at 10:00 AM, from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Gene Hollins officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Lowery, daughter of the late Steely Preston and Virginia Packard Durden, was born in Augusta. She retired from the Accounting department of Sears & Robuck. She was a member of Mize Memorial United Methodist Church and the Mize-Walters Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Lowery Nadeau and her granddaughter Jane Ann Lowery. She is survived by her son Russell Lowery, and his wife Jean, of Powder Springs, GA; her sister, Mary Dorrill of Augusta and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Winton Jiles, Kenny Kinsey, John Jahera, James Dorrill, Lloyd Malcom, and Johnny Hollins. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Bagwell and Harmon Beasley. If so desired memorial contributions may be made to Mize Memorial United Methodist Church, 302 Barrow Dr, Augusta, GA 30906. The family will receive friends Friday, August 16, 2013, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors 2502 Richmond Hill Road, Augusta, Georgia 30906.
