LINCOLNTON, Ga. - Mr. Marion Maines Glover, Sr. entered into rest on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Eisenhower Medical Center in Fort Gordon, GA. The funeral service with full military honors will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Lincolnton United Methodist Church with Rev. James Bocian officiating. Interment will be in Dekle Cemetery in Lake Butler, Florida. Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry McKinney, Brian Williamson, George Glover, Ruben Glover, Marion Glover and Matt McGee. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be J.R. McGee and Max Brown. Mr. Glover was the son of the late Reuben Ruldolph Glover and the late Mary Loraine Rawls Glover of Alachua, FL. He was retired military after serving his country honorably during World War II, Korean War and Vietnam. Mr. Glover was a member of the Retired Officers Association, Military Police Corps, Lincolnton United Methodist Church and was a life member of the Lincoln County Historical Society. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Peggy McGee Glover; one daughter, Linda G. McKinney and husband, Jerry of Lincolnton; one son, Phillip Glover and wife, Tere of McCormick, S.C.; six grandchildren, George, Ruben and Marion Glover, Kristie Williamson, Kim Morrison and Lauren McKinney; four great grandchildren, Tyler Williamson, Zia Williamson, Hayden Williamson and Ava Morrison. Mr. Glover was preceded in death by a son, Marion Maines Glover, Jr. If so desired memorial contributions may be made to Lincolnton United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 85, Lincolnton, GA. 30817.
