APPLING, Ga. - Mr. Richard T. Pifer, Jr., age 80, beloved husband of Mrs. Sharyn Pifer, died Sunday, January 12 at his residence. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 16, at 11 a.m. in Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Collins officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Mr. Pifer was a native of White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., but had lived in the Winfield Community for many years. He worked at Ga-Pacific for 27 years as a mechanic and then the Augusta Chronicle for 15 years as a Building Superintendant. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sharyn Pifer; two daughters, Lisa Warner and Anne Wright, both of Brunswick Ga.; a son, Randall T. Pifer, Williamson Ga.; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the residence or at the Curtis Funeral Home.
