HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Mr. Rufus Mims, 63, son of the late Otis Mims, Sr. and Azilee Mims, was born February 21, 1950 in Plum Branch, South Carolina. On Thursday, February 20, 2014, his earthly life took flight to begin eternal rest. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. from Ebenezer Rock Church, 4510 Old Waynesboro Road, Hephzibah, GA 30815 with Dr. Angelo Hatcher, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Mims is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda Geter Mims, of the home; three daughters, Edwenta P. Lewis (Willie), Ninety-Six, SC, Shelonda M. Houston, of the home, Alfrecia Mims (preceded him in death); one sister, Helen J. Leverette, Plum Branch, SC; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
