To Johnny's mother,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I am sorry too that I never even knew Johnny's name until after his passing. I did, however, know him by his gregarious and contagious smile. For over 15 years I saw him in the same spot greeting drives with a smile, a wave, or a salute. I helped when I could and only wish I could have done more. The fact that he was ALWAYS in such high spirits despite what must have been very challenging circumstances often made it just a little easier to make it through my own daily struggles with a more positive attitude. He will be missed. May God bless you and your family during this time.

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Hebrews 13:2

Mrs. Johnson - I'm praying with you and for you and your family as we celebrate Johnny's amazing life. He touched so many people and was truly one of God's soldiers. For those of us who grew up together on Meadowlark Drive it is specially hard to grasp the enormity of this loss. But to God be the Glory - he will see us through! Don't hesitate to reach out to us if you need anything.

Johnny was my neighbor for almost 2 years. He was always positive, kind and respectful no matter what his situation. His smile was infectious and his unwavering positive attitude towards life is an inspiration to us all. His memory will be a lifelong reminder to help others when they are in need and to appreciate the little things. Johnny Johnson, Jr, you will be missed.

Johnny,
You touched us all by your smile, consistent presence, weekly blessings, and amazing capacity for names & faces. We noticed that you weren't in your usual spot on our way to little Airlie's dedication at Kairos on 8/10/14. We always notice when you're not there! Please know that you will be greatly missed. You are our friend and brother, and we look forward to seeing you in the Kingdom!
Much love, Evan, Julia, & Airlie

From the first moment I met Johnny, I knew he was not of this world. He extended his hand to me and said, “My name is Mr. Johnny Johnson and what should I have the honor of calling you”. We talked about everything from sports to politics.
We always made plans to dine at Justin's Restaurant but we joked about not having anything to wear! During my morning, commutes he would always encourage me to smile but his smile is what I really looked forward to seeing because it had a way of warming my heart. Johnny, thank you for teaching me to appreciate the little things in life. You will never be forgotten.

With great sadness, I send my condolences to the family of Mr. Johnny Johnson. I've passed by him on the I20 underpass on Spring Street for the past 7 or 8 years. I've had the privilege of talking to him any time I was stopped at the light, and his kind spirit compelled me to look for him there every day.
When he wasn't there, I'd send up a prayer for his safety and hope that he was somewhere comfortable, and permanent.
But whenever I saw him again, I was always relieved that he was alright. Id give him whatever cash I had on me in hopes that it would make his day a little better and his night a little more peaceful.
He'd told me he graduated from Glen Hills, and that his mother still lived in Augusta. My in-laws are from and still reside in Augusta, and my sister in law also graduated from Glen Hills. He'd tell me when he wasn't feeling his best, but that he was still blessed.
Atlanta won't be the same without him, but I am blessed to have known him, at least a little, and to have encountered him as regularly as I did. I will miss you Mr. Johnny, and you'll forever be in my heart.

Most have mentioned seeing Johnny in the mornings but I had the priviledge of seeing him on my way home in the evenings. He will truly be missed! I use to have a license plate on the front of my car with the scripture.."Romans 8:28" He asked me one time what that scripture meant. I told him that it meant "All things work together for the good for those who love the Lord and are called according to his purpose." He responded "I like that Sister" Whenever Johnny would see me he would point to my license plate and then point up to God....RIP my friend.

I am so sorry to hear the horrible news about Johnny.
I would talk with him on my way to each Braves game. He is a man of class and character. He's such a nice man, so polite and positive. We'd talk about plays from the game the night before. He was always smiling and would salute me after our chats. He is such a goodhearted man. I am very proud to know him! And now, I'll miss him every day.

Dear Mrs. Johnson,
As you can see by the comments your son touched the lives of many through his gentle spirit. I have known him for the past 4 years commuting and I thank God that he was a part if my life. I, too, called him Mr. Johnny:) His Christ-like attitude reminded me daily to be thankful for all I have. He loved you dearly and would share with me when he had visited you. Thank you for your son. He will always be in my heart.

Mrs. Johnson, I know you will miss your son, but I hope you know how much he touched the world around him with his unquenchable optimism and his beautiful smile. I only knew him from driving past him on my commute into Atlanta but we often spoke and he always asked God to bless me. He inspired many people.

Seeing Johnny was the high light of my drive in to work every morning. He always had a huge smile on his face and always had something positive to say. He was always more concerned about others than himself. I never once, in the 5 years that I knew him, heard him say anything negative! I will miss his smile and happy personality. What is such a huge loss for us, is definitely a huge gain for heaven! Rest in peace, my sweet friend - I will miss you so much!!
