Albert Johnson Obituary
Johnson, Albert E. 93, of Oswego, and formerly of Montgomery, Aurora and North Aurora, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014, surrounded by his loving family at Bickford of Oswego. He was born February 23, 1921 in Montgomery, IL, the son of Alfred Peter and Ella Mary (nee Smith) Johnson. He was united in marriage to Florence H. Fischer December 28, 1946 in Aurora, IL. Albert served in the in the United States Army as First Lieutenant, Headquarters 30th Infantry Division from 1943 to 1945. He was a veteran of World War II, who served in the European Theater and a recipient of the Silver Star. Albert was a 1949 graduate of Aurora College. He was employed by the Berlin Industries retiring in 1993. Al was a member of Golden Kiwanis Club, Calvary Episcopal Church, and the Montgomery VFW Post. He is survived by his wife, Florence; three daughters, Mary (John) Koski, of Eagle, WI Alice (Christopher) White, of Boston, MA, and Ann (Rich) Ryan; of Sugar Grove, IL; nine grandchildren, Betsy (Bryan Middleton) Koski, Meggin (Todd) Johnson, Matt (Bonnie) Koski, Jennifer (Nick) Rink, Nate (Charlie) White, Gavin White, Henry White, Drew Ryan, Kelsey Ryan; seven great-grandchildren; and three nieces, Carol (Jack) McNealy, Jane (Dan) Price, Julie (Ken) Bromann. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Ella Johnson; a sister, Melvina Bargo; and granddaughter, Katie Colleen Ryan. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2014 at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave., Batavia, IL. At 10:30 a.m., a procession will walk over to the Calvary Episcopal Church 222 South Batavia Ave. Batavia to celebrate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. The family would like to thank the caring, and loving staff at Bickford of Oswego, the ICA staff of Rush-Copley Hospital and Vitas Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Calvary Episcopal Church, 222 South Batavia Ave., Batavia, IL 60510.
