Albert W. DeSotell Obituary
DeSotell, Albert W. Passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at his home. He was born October 13, 1916 in Aurora to Joseph and Azilda (Regnier) DeSotell. Albert grew up during the depression and later served his country during WWII. He served in the army throughout Europe. As a lifelong resident of Aurora, Albert was a member of Sacred Heart Church and joined Saint Joseph's Church after marrying Abbie Catherine Reuter on June 28, 1952. They made their home on Pigeon Hill raising their family in the house Albert built. Albert worked for the C B & Q Railroad and retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1979. He was a member of the Moose, American Legion and V.F.W. He is survived by two daughters, Katherine DeSotell of Aurora and Mary Ann (Terrance) Frantzen of Aurora; three grandchildren, Laura (Joseph) Weiler of Aurora, Abbie (Michael) Leverence of Aurora and Matthew Frantzen of Aurora; three great-grandchildren, Aminah Leverence, Charlotte Weiler, and Sam Leverence; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 54 years, Abbie Reuter; and his siblings, Jeanette (Arthur) Weingart, Fred DeSotell, Norman (Louise) DeSotell, Adeline (Clarence) Werrline, George (Ann) DeSotell, Edmund (Margaret) DeSotell, Loretta (Paul) Brengle, Eugene (Bea) DeSotell and Rosalyn DeSotell. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 21, 2013 from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY at 9:30 a.m. to St. Joseph Church at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Jerome Leake will officiate with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, December 20, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Liturgical Wake Service at 4:30 p.m., at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora, 630-631-5500. The family wishes to thank VITAS Hospice and his caregivers over the past years. Special gratitude is given to Maria who provided care and comfort to Albert and his family until his passing.
