Laurel L. Wall Obituary
Wall, Laurel L. 75, of Aurora, was called to her heavenly home on Friday, August 15, 2014 at Presence Mercy Medical Center. She was born December 21, 1938 in Clinton, Illinois. Laurel was employed by Naperville Community Transportation Department, District 203, in Naperville, IL as a special needs school bus driver for 19 years. She was also a retiree from AT&T in Montgomery, IL and was a proud member of IBEW Local 1492, and a member of the Women's Chapter VFW in Montgomery, IL. Laurel was a graduate of Holy Angels Elementary and Madonna High School in Aurora. She served as the librarian for her fellow bus drivers, loved art in every form and was a talented artist in stained glass, floral arrangements and ceramics. Laurel is survived by her children, Diane (Scott) Wall Pini of Yorkville, IL, Sandra (Marc) Wall Benkendorf of San Antonio, TX, Laura (Scot) Wall McDavitt of Baton Rouge, LA, Karen (Dan) Wall Dlugopolski of Aurora, IL and Ruth Wall Garza of Amboy, IL; her grandchildren, Renee Rotter, Lisa Rotter, Irvin (Emily) Rotter, Jackie Pini, Jeff (Kimmie) Pini, Kyle (Alton) Pini, Steve Pini, Jason Benkendorf, Marsha (Mark) McKinney, Sarah Jane Benkendorf, Jeremy Scot McDavitt, James Richard (Megan) McDavitt, Jesse Cullen McDavitt, Racheal Wall, Kyle Richard Wall, Matthew Crook, Amber Crook, and David, Danny and Randy (Sally) Garza; her great-grandchildren, Katie and William Pierce, Felicity Casas, Antasia Simmons, Nadine Rotter, James Frank McDavitt, Gabriella, Jaydin, Jace and Ariana Pini; her brother, James Arvil Franklin of Montgomery; two sisters, Cheryl (Jerry) Franklin Jones of Aurora and Penny (Heinz) Franklin Litty of Baton Rouge, LA; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arvil Franklin (1969) and Leone Kerber Franklin Benedict (2012); and her grandparents, Olive Cullen Kerber Gall (1968) and Adam Kerber (1965), and Anna Sims Merritt Franklin (1962) and Finis Franklin (1966). Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY. Interment will follow in River Hills Memorial Park, Batavia. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora. 630-631-5500.
