Robert C. "RC" May Obituary
May, Robert C. "RC" Passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Born in Aurora in 1949, Bob would have been 64 on May 3. Bob was the son of the late Robert F. May and Ruth (nee Clark) May of Montgomery. Bob leaves behind his loving wife of 30 years, Dianna (nee Techen) and constant companion, Abigail, his Golden Retriever. Surviving Bob is his mother, Ruth; a sister, Jane (Robert) Thorsen; and brother, Jeff (Sharon) May; and several nieces and nephews. Bob graduated from East Aurora High School in 1967 and from Aurora College in 1981 with a degree in Criminal Justice. Bob served his country in the Army from October 1970 to June 1976 spending time in Germany and Thailand at the close of the Vietnam War. He retired in 2002 from the Juvenile Division of the Illinois State Department of Corrections and had also worked for the Department of Children and Family Services during his career. He then spent his time getting back into being an umpire for girls softball and his favorite outdoor sport fishing. As an avid sports fan Bob was in a number of Rotisserie Leagues throughout the years and always rooted for the Cubs and Bears. He was extremely disappointed when ALS prevented him from participating in his favorite sport bowling.
