Pacheco, Richard "Dick"
Richard I. Pacheco, 90, died with family by his side on Saturday, September 5, 2015 in Chandler, AZ. He was born November 2, 1924 at his grandfather's ranch in Northern New Mexico (Lucero, NM) and was raised in Rainsville, NM. He worked for the City Loan and Finance Company 1955- 1968 in Nogales, Arizona. Richard Pacheco's political career began in 1968 when he won a race for the Legislature as State Representative for Santa Cruz, Gila, Pinal, and Pima Counties in Arizona. He served a total of 24 years. His proudest moments were when he represented the state of Arizona as a legislator. Mr. Pacheco served in the United States Army as a Paratrooper December 14, 1943 through June 12, 1946. Richard is survived by his wife Karen of 35 years, and daughters Pearl Castillo of Scottsdale, and Corrine (Dave) Zollner of Grand Junction, CO. He had 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and his beloved dogs. He was preceded in death by his father; mother, brother, ex-wife, daughter and son. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am with a visitation beginning at 10:30 am on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Valley of the Sun Mortuary in Chandler, AZ. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to your favorite charity.

Good grief i posted yesterday and it didnt get there...Dick and i were joined at the hip. So to speak..so i KNOW Dick..There isnt a better person who ever put on a pair of boots.Dick adopted me into the Pacheco's ha ha. Im proud to be part of them. a fine group.Got to watch them grow up .married.etc..Dick and I had this funny deal.when someone who passed we knew. Id say damn Dick their hitting all around us!!! Dick would say"im next". Id counter and say ok you next after me.wed chuckle..My ole amigo your physical presence will be missed...but you spirt will always be here for me..I love you man

Dear Karen, Ever since we met and became bet friends at the age of 13 yrs, I always knew you made great choices. The best one was marring our dear Dick and giving me the pleasure of standing up to your wedding 35 yrs ago. He was a wonderful person and great friend, RIP dear Dick you will never be forgotten.
