It's really, really, really hard to hear of someone's death. David had carried out his name, "a man after God's own heart." Yes, I know that he wanted so bad to be a missionary. It took me forever, that even though, he did not reach to places that did not know God's Word, he was able to reach to people within the comfort of his own earthly home. I knew him, funny, since March 28th, 2012. Yes, we knew each other for a short time, but he has helped me in my struggles. About a day, maybe two, before he died, I was looking at music videos, and I came across Carrie Underwood's song "Temporary Home," and it fit David perfectly. One part, the lyrics were correct, "This was just a stop, on the way to where I'm going, I'm not afraid because I know, this is my temporary home." And, Munsey family, listen, Tenth Avenue North (James, thanks for mentioning that you and David love the band and this song), Worn talks about the struggles that are in life. Even though God took David home, that may have caused you to look at God and say, "Now I know that I can look at my God and sing praises, because I know, that David would too, when he was in a difficult situation." Munsey's, is it the end of the world, just because David died? Of course not! One of my bestest of best friends told me through a text message, that we can think that David is in some part of the world where he gets no cell reception, and we can ask God to send our messages on to him. May God use David's death and make it into a praise. And God can bring a praise out of a storm. He did multiple times. It worked with Mike Donehey in Tenth Avenue North, it worked with Jonah, I'm pretty sure it worked with the apostle Paul, and it can work with us. Let's not think that this was a storm. David left a legacy. And he left a ministry left undone. Would he like that we didn't continue on his work? Yes, my dream was to become a missionary as well, and I continue to continue on his mission work. I hope you do the same.

Although we did not know David personally, it is obvious he was loved by many and will be greatly missed. May "the God of all comfort" (2 Cor. 1:3) be with you all at this time.

Bobbi, Scott, James, John,

I imagine it's really hard right now and I'm so sorry for your loss. I don't think I'd seen David since Awana years and years ago at MBC but it's beautiful to see what's been written of him and to hear that he had a heart for the Lord Jesus. Awesome to have the confidence that He is with Him now. May the God of all comfort be very near.

Love,

Bobbi and Scott,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I just found out today. By reading the tributes it is evident that your son, David was a servant of the Lord. He sounds like a wonderful, caring young man. I remember him as a little boy at Mesa Baptist. My heart aches for you and your family. I will be praying for you during the difficult days ahead. May the Lord Jesus Christ bring comfort and peace to you and your family.

I didn't know David that well but he would always go out of his way to say Hi to me every Sunday morning at Church. He was always good spirited and I would see him singing his heart out every morning while we were at church. I wish I would have gotten to know him better before he went up to Heaven with our dear Lord. He is greatly missed and Loved by tons. I will always keep him in our prayers and our hearts as well as the Munsey Family.

I did not know David, but I wish I had. As one who has worked with kids for many years, I feel the pain my cousin Elsa is experiencing, and I pray for her. But I cannot even imagine the pain you, his parents, are feeling. I pray that God will comfort you like only He can. Such a godly young man! Praying for you.

David, though I did not know you well, you certainly have left an impact in my life. Every Sunday morning before Bible study would begin, you would ALWAYS make an effort to ask me if there was a prayer request I needing praying about. Most weeks my response was, "Not that I can think of at this moment, but thank you." Even though 9 out of 10 times that he would ask me for a prayer request, I would say no, you would continuously, week after week come up to me and ask me anyways. I had always admired your courage to come up to me who was practically a stranger and do that. You do not know how many people you have probably impacted because of your courage and bravery to ALWAYS live for God and let the Holy Spirit move in you the ways that it did. Remembering the times I talked to you, realizing it was the small details such as asking for prayer requests had the most impact on me. You have opened up my eyes realizing that sometimes it's the small things in life that will be most effective in showing the love of Christ to others. This will be my constant daily reminder to show Christ in all things…especially the little things in life like a prayer request.

I have just gotten to know the Munsey family over the last year and David was such a sweet caring polite young man. He will be missed...but he is dancing on the floors of heaven with Jesus looking down upon his family and friends.

Our hearts are filled with emotions at the loss of David. We could share so many memories of his walk with Christ but one thing stands out that always touched our hearts. His love for his family, especially John.
He was always looking out for John. I know that he will continue watching over his family from heaven,
Especially You John! Prayers for God comfort and assurance.

When my daughter texted me if I remember the Munsey's I first thought of David before his brothers and parents. David was one of the very few people I know who genuinely loves life and has a non-judgmental attitude towards others. He always spoke to me as I was an equal to him instead of his 40ish female martial arts teacher. He loved coming to class, he always achieved better than his best, was disciplined and respectful, yet also FUN! His eyes were pleasant to look at like a soul who loved serving God and people. I know God has a reason for calling David home early. We always hear that the good die young. Well, perhaps there are more lost in heaven than we know of and David was needed. He was a definite light on this world but heaven just became even more light. My prayers are with you James and John and your parents.

It was a sad time to hear of David's death. He not only talked about the the Bible, but I believe he also lived it. We are the parents of Joey Baysinger, Bob and Sonya. Every time we flew to Arizona to visit our son and his family, David was always the the first to greet us and say some kind words of welcome. We didn't know David as well as some of you in Arizona, but we will miss his smiling face. I know David is in a better place now, and we are praying for the family.

I will always remember when I was at Awana Camp with my twin daughters Rachael and Rebecca. David came over to talk to us. He told me to be careful with my girls because they were special. He was a special young man! He will be missed by many, but praise God he is walking streets of gold with his savior!

My heart is heavy for you here on earth but I am so excited David is with our Lord Jesus Christ in heaven. There are mysteries in this world we will never know but we know that God's grace is sufficient. I heard the song "Your Grace Finds Me" yesterday shortly after hearing he went to be with the Lord...it is so fitting. That even in death, His grace finds us. We are blessed to have known him. I remember eating with you at lunch when I came to see James lead worship. There is no other pleasure in the world than knowing someone loved the Lord and LIVED it our daily. He was so delightful and my time on earth has certainly been sweetened by knowing him. Let us know if you need anything. We love the Munsey family. To God be the glory.....

David was a student of mine for 10th grade at Gateway Fellowship. David took me at my word and asked a lot of questions about words he didn't understand, and other biblical questions. He had a child-like innocence that reminds me of the fact that Jesus taught that we have to come to him like children (with hearts full of faith to believe in Him) and that the kingdom of Heaven is made up of folks with a faith like David had. David knew his Bible better than any other student I've ever had, and he quizzed with, first, my daughter and, then, my son in Bible quizzing, which my husband and I head up at Gateway Fellowship. Despite being only two-man teams against four- and sometimes five-person teams, they did more winning than losing, and all three of these kids went to nationals competition.

David was genuine; lived his faith unabashedly, even when he thought no one was looking. He lived the commands and shared his faith and brought others into a love-relationship with Jesus, even before graduating and going on for a degree in becoming an evangelist,-- something he knew he felt called to be since young.

I had the privilege of photographing David during the course of his Bible quizzing career and watched him bloom from an awkward, camera-shy boy to a handsome, young man that could be a ham when he wanted to be, with a growing confidence posing for photos.

I'm so blessed to have been touched by David-- "a man after God's own heart! I loved him and will miss him. I feel the world is a little bit darker for his absence. But I rejoice knowing he is with his Savior, and has gotten to meet both his and my favorite apostle: Paul. God bless him there, and us who are left behind. May we be a little more like David and truly desire to see our family and friends come to saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, before it's too late. <3 <3
