I did not have the good fortune of knowing you very well but the love my brother Eric has for you tells me it is my great loss. You made a very big footprint on this road we call life that no one will ever fill. My condolences to your family and friends. Goodbye.

I also worked with Mark at Dames & Moore / URS corp till early 2000. Whenever I stopped by his cube to chat, he'd always have some interesting little history tidbit to share.
I remember when he won big on Final Jeopardy and won that Jaguar. He let that Jaguar sit in the driveway 'cause he joked he wanted to see how far he could keep pushing that little Geo Metro. The real reason he wouldn't drive it though, was because he wanted to sell it for as much as he could to invest in his boys college fund! Admirable man! We'll miss you Mark.

Mark was a keenly intelligent, subversively funny and truly kind man. I was lucky to share an office with him at work, and he will be missed.

I worked with Mark at Dames & Moore / URS in Phoenix for several years in the 1990s and 2000s. A fine, quiet, intelligent man and a trustworthy, supportive friend. I'll always remember how Mark helped the D&M bicycling team on the MS150 bike race by driving my pickup and trailer full of bikes to the starting line in Phoenix, then back again from Parker late on the next day, while I drove the RV carrying the riders. One year Mark was horrified to lose his wedding ring somewhere, but my step daughter found it in the truck the next day. I'm very sorry to hear of Mark's passing, and extend my sincerest condolences to his family.

Thank you, Mark, for saving me all those years ago. We kept talking about meeting up someday so I could show you just what a difference you had made in my life... I've been hoping and waiting; I guess I'll just have to wait a bit longer, that's all. Meanwhile, rest in peace, buddy -- my hero, my rock, my dear and gentle friend.
