Beckereg, Don "D. R." 81, died April 28, 2015 in Phoenix, AZ. He was born in Miles City, Montana on June 16, 1933. His father died when he was only 7. When Don was 12, he moved to Phoenix with his mom and 3 younger siblings. Don attended Whittier grade school and North High School. At 17, Don went to work at Goodyear Aerospace. Within 1 year he was promoted to Flight test engineer for Automatic Terrain Recognition and Navigation (ATRAN) system for the MACE missile. He continued in development and flight test of the SAR (synthetic aperture radar) for the B-58 Hustler. He loved to work and loved to learn. From 1964 thru 1989 he was Development Engineer, Flight Test Director, Project Engineer, and Overseas field site manager for the radar system of the SR-71 'Blackbird". He was again Flight Test Director for the reactivation of the SR-71 and data link integration from 1995 thru 1997. He was involved with the MSAR, the TUXEDO SAR, the HIKER MTI and FTI operations and finally Flight Test Engineer and Deployment team supervisor for FOPEN radar system. Don was fortunate to fly 1150 hours in 14 different radar development/flight test aircraft. He traveled to all 50 states and 31 different countries. Don's two favorite places were the San Juan mountains of Colorado where he loved to 4-wheel drive his trusty Scout and explore old gold and silver mines, and Havasupai where he loved to hike. Don is survived by his wife Janice, his daughters Karen Scoggins of Poway, CA and Ronda Beckerleg-Thraen of Phoenix, and his sons James Beckerleg and John Beckerleg also of Phoenix. On Friday May 29 at 9:30 am his ashes will be inurned in the National Memorial Cemetery, Shelter #3, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix. His Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 am at Paradise Valley United Methodist Church chapel, 4455 E. Lincoln Dr, Paradise Valley. A lunch reception will follow.

Black, Richard D. Richard D. Black of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on Saturday morning, May 16, 2015, at the age of 82. He was born September 18, 1932, in Blakesburg, Iowa to Ralph Black and Florence Cohagen. He was the first of five children and is survived by a sister, Evelyn of Des Moines, Iowa, and three brothers, Ronnie of Ottumwa, Iowa; Roger of Atlantic, Iowa; and Doug of Ottumwa, Iowa. After marrying Betty Darlene Black on August 19, 1951, in Agency, Iowa, Dad moved the family from Iowa to Arizona in about 1960. Mom predeceased him on June 6, 2010. Dad loved everything about Arizona, including the summers. He is the father of four children: Joyce Surkala (Dan) of Concho, Arizona; Rick Black (Kay) of Ottumwa, Iowa, Andrew Black (Julie) of Wittmann, Arizona and William Black (Lisa) of Phoenix, Arizona. Dad had a tremendous sense of humor that he maintained throughout his life. He loved children and is survived by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren whom he loved to playfully tease. The family would like to thank the wonderful people with Hospice of the Valley for the loving care they provided Dad while he was at the Gardiner Home. Visitation/Viewing will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, May 21, 2015 and Friday, May 22, 2015 at Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. 7th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85020. Crispo, Scott Anthony died May 15, 2015. He was born in Phoenix, AZ on April 29, 1961. Scott's youth was spent in Paradise Valley, Arizona graduating from Cherokee Elementary School and Chaparral High School. Scott loved nature, he grew up loving the desert and mountains, like most of his friends. He enjoyed exploring many different areas in the Southwest, developing his passion for rock hunting. Scott was introduced to camping by his Aunt Charlotte, Uncle Leonard and cousin Bub. Scott worked with his family in the produce business, Great Western Produce. He moved with his mother in 2013 to Prescott Valley. He continued his love for camping and rock hunting, always taking his two four legged best friends, Hoover and Sandy; especially when panning for gold in Lynx Creek looking for the "Big Nugget". Scott loved his family very much and was a very kind, generous person with everyone. Scott was always there for others in a time of need. Scott is survived by: his mother Jo, who he adored and showed his love daily; younger brothers Jeff and Ricci, niece, Nicole and nephew, Deric. He proceeded in death by his father Victor and brother, Neil. A graveside service will be 11:30 am on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Arizona Pioneer's Home Cemetery, 1300 Iron Spring Rd., Prescott, AZ.
