Jeffrey Farinacci Obituary

Farinacci, Jeffrey Allan
of Mesa, Arizona passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 11, 2010 at the young age of 48. He was born in Pittsburg, Kansas on October 18, 1961 to Pieverino Ignacio and Wilma Louise Hartshorn Farinacci. He grew up in Pittsburg and moved with his family to Orem, UT when he was 13 years old. He graduated from Orem High School and later graduated magna cum laude with a double major in math and physics from the University of Utah. Jeff graduated with a master's degree in applied physics from the University of Indiana. After graduation, Jeff worked as a software engineer for the last 23 years. Jeff worked for a number of companies including Texas Instruments, General Dynamics and most recently L3. Jeff loved math, physics and astronomy. He owned a number of telescopes and wrote an excellent book on the subject. He liked to hike, travel, watch baseball, research genealogy and ride bikes. He also enjoyed time with family and friends. Jeff was a devoted husband; father, brother, uncle and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jay. Jeff is survived by his wife Beth, his daughter Rebecca, his sons, Randy and Aaron and his brother Jim with his family. A Visitation will be held 6 - 8 PM, Sunday, October 17, 2010 at the LDS Church - Southern Estates Ward Relief Society Room, 920 S. Lindsay Rd., Mesa, AZ 85204. The Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, October 18, 2010 at the Southern Estates Ward Chapel. Interment will immediately follow at the City of Mesa Cemetery. Jeff is the best friend that you ever could have.He would do anything for you if he could. He really loved his family, especially his dear wife,Beth.He will be sorely missed.

10 years ago I started a new job. When I pulled into the parking lot there was this fellow with a telescope set up pointed at the sun. That was Jeff. He and another physicist were watching Mercury transit the Sun. He shall be missed.
