Adele Butkus Allen

Adele Butkus Allen was born in Skoudas, Lithuania April 13, 1922. She died of natural causes Oct. 7, 2005. She was a strong woman who survived WWII by fleeing Lithuania and immigrated in 1946 to Ohio where she met and married her husband Charles G. Allen. She put together a life for herself and her children despite difficult personal and social barriers. Adele moved to Arizona in 1997 and made a new life for herself here. Her perseverance and love will not be forgotten. She is survived by her three children, Alfredas Butkus, Andrew Allen, and Ruth Allen; four grandchildren: Michelle Claason, Janiece Jackson, Adrian Butkus, and Mitchel Allen-Rivera and three great-grand children: Harley Jackson and Cody and Caiden Butkus. Her memorial service will be held on Wednesday Oct. 12, 2005 at 7 p.m. at Tempe Mortuary, 405 E. Southern Avenue Tempe, AZ.
