Died January 15, 2013 at the age of 88 in Scottsdale, AZ. Adrian was born July 16, 1924 in Brockton, MA to Gardner Clyde Norcross and Mildred Maybelle Moulton. He married Nancy Howland Robertson on Oct. 4, 1947 in Worcester, MA. He received a BS in mechanical engineering from Tufts University. Adrian proudly served as a 1st Lieutenant in the Navy in WWII, the Korean War and Naval Reserve. He also served in Cape Cod's Coast Guard Auxiliary. Adrian worked for Westinghouse for 30 years until retiring. After living in PA for many years, Adrian and Nancy retired to Cape Cod where they enjoyed being New Englanders again. They relocated to Scottsdale, AZ which had been their winter escape for many years. In addition to being close to their youngest daughter, they enjoyed exploring the Southwest. Adrian loved boating, camping, woodworking and painting. Adrian was very active in his church and believed in helping those in need. He was never far from his tool belt and was an all-around handyman, which his wife and daughters appreciated! No matter where they lived Nancy and Adrian developed long-lasting friendships and dedicated themselves to their community. Adrian is remembered by his wife Nancy; sister Sandra White; 3 daughters: Gail Norcross, Cynthia Norcross and Ginny Coltman (Joe); 4 grandchildren: Stephen Shambach, Jennifer Painter (Matthew), Rebecca Coltman, Kathleen Coltman; and one great grandchild Adriane Painter. Adrian was preceded in death by 2 siblings: Gardner C. Norcross and Meredith Norcross. The family will hold a private service locally. This summer Adrian's ashes will be interred in the Memorial Garden at the Federated Church of Orleans, Cape Cod. Contributions may be made to or local Veteran's Administration.
