of Glendale was born Jan. 31, 1935 and was called home to her Lord on March 20, 2014. Ann was born at her home in Concord, Tenn. She was raised by her parents Dale and Beatrice Gates. Ann was a mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a restaurateur, who managed restaurants including Rafael's and Tomaso's. She was a part owner of Milano's before she retired. Anyone who ate at a restaurant Ann managed or owned has found it hard to be satisfied with other dining experiences. Ann is survived by four children, Carol Monahan, Jacque Madrid (David), Jody Monahan Keeney and Vikki Monahan. Ann is also survived by her sisters, Linda Hoskinson (Mike), Mary Boyd (Kenny); brothers Burl Lumpkin and Chuck Gates (Julia). Ann is also survived by her grandchildren, Kara Pena (Chris), Angelica Guzman (Jose), Jacob Madrid (Andrhea), Johnathan Keeney (Amy), Lucy Keeney, Michael Silvius and Robert Silvius. She had nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Michael Monahan, grandson Bryan Little, the father of her children John Monahan, her sisters Thelma Skok and Elizabeth Haydon; and brothers Oscar Lumpkin and Arnold Gates. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 25, at Best Funeral Home, 9380 W. Peoria Ave., Peoria.
