Covert, Christopher W.
78, of Scottsdale, AZ and Essex, NY passed away on December 7, 2013 after a very brief illness. Born in Cleveland, OH to Seward A. and Jane Stockwell Covert, he graduated from Shaker Heights High School, Mercersburg Academy and Hamilton College then served in the United States Navy. He earned a M.A. from Case Western Reserve University. Chris' career was in education. He served as Dean of Admission at Hamilton College and later as Assistant Headmaster at Providence Country Day School before becoming an independent educational consultant, helping students find boarding schools and colleges. He was devoted to helping young people achieve their full potential. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Conover Covert, his children Chris, Liz, Margaret, Mike and Tom and eleven amazing grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
