Curtis F. Yancy Oct 7, 1931 - February 25, 2013 Born in Coleman, TX to the late Eldredge and Lola Yancy. Married 54 years to Wanda Mioduszewski. A veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He served with the 38th Air Rescue and 31st Tactical Fighter Wing in his 20 years with the USAF. Recipient of The Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star, Air Medal with 14 Oak Leaf Clusters in addition to 14 other medals. After retiring from the USAF, He then worked for 22 years in Environmental Management for the Veterans Administration. His quick wit and kindred spirit has touched many lives and is considered a hero to most. Becoming a Genealogist showed his love for family and history. If not researching family history or emailing friends, he loved to read or watch a good Western and despised mushrooms. Survived by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings and his faithful dog Zippy. Interment Friday, April 5, 2013 10:30AM National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. A celebration of Curtis' life will be at 12 noon Glendale Civic Center. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Wounded Warrior Project or Pets for Vets.
