Donald Floyd Hunsaker

Hunsaker, Donald Floyd
68 died at 4:30 pm on March 9, 2013 at Hospice of the Valley in Surprise, Arizona. He was born on September 15, 1944 to James Hunsaker and Eleanor Myers. He married Kathleen Donahoe on the 23rd of November 1968 in Pueblo, CO. Don is survived by his wife, two sons Jim and Nathan, two sisters Linda and Lorelei, two daughter-in-laws Susan and Jessica, and six grandchildren Emily, Jacob, Beverly, Sarah, Carson, and Trevor. Don graduated from Western State University with a BS in History and held an MBA from the University of Utah. He served with the 5th Battalion 4th ARTY in Vietnam where he received two Bronze Stars, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with device 60 for his service. After 35 years of dedicated civil service Don retired from the Bureau of Reclamation in 2004. He was an outstanding member of the community volunteering at the Kiwanis Club and serving as the treasurer of the Vistancia Wine Club. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and playing golf with his close friends. He was a dedicated husband, father, and friend and will be greatly missed. Funeral services for Donald were held on March 22, 2013 at the Arizona National Cemetery at 10a.m. Legend Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Arrowhead Kiwanis Club has set up a Memorial Fund in Honor of Don Hunsaker. Donations to this Fund can be sent to: Arrowhead Kiwanis Club, 7015 West St John Rd, Glendale, AZ 85308.
