Cuker, Donald James
77, of Peoria, AZ passed away on 12/15/2013. Don succumbed after a long battle with cancer. He served in the US Army in the Korean war. He worked in law enforcement for several agencies including DPS, Maricopa County SO, Peoria PD and Surprise PD. He loved mentoring and worked from street officer up to chief of police but most loved working as a sergeant. When asked why he didn't apply for lieutenant, we would say that he was having too much fun. This was also his reason for not retiring. He loved to laugh, lead, teach and he loved the Lord. He loved his soul mate Peggy. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Peggy, daughters Donna Bornmann and Danita Cuker, his brother Vince Cuker. Grand daughters Kelly Brantner and Kari Girard, grandson Jupe Bornmann and four great-grandchildren A memorial mass was held 12/18/13 and he will be cremated per his wishes.
