Dwight Russel Alexander

Dwight Russel Alexander, 73, of Tempe, AZ, went to be with his Lord on August 15th , 2003, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on April 7, 1930. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven. He is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Teddi; daughter Candy Rutherford of Tempe; sons Rod (Sue) of Mesa and Jim (Kris) of Chandler; daughter-in-law Janet Ostermeyer; and grandchildren Carrie, Jodi, Ryan, Mike with a fifth one due in November. Also surviving his are four brothers and two sisters, all living in Ohio. Dwight worked for the New York Central Railroad in Ohio before moving to Arizona in 1953. He worked here for Garrett-Allied Signal as a plumber for 35 years. His biggest enjoyments were to watch the NASCAR races and spending time with his family. He was also a season ticket holder for the Arizona Diamondbacks and attended his final game on Sunday, August 10. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, August 20, 2003, at Grace Community Church, on Southern Avenue in Tempe. Final preparations are entrusted to Carr Tenney Mortuary, Tempe.
