CMSgt Earl C. Broomhead, U.S. Air Force
Retired, 89, beloved husband of Theresa for 60 years, went peacefully to the arms of our Lord on June 21, 2013. Earl is survived by two adult children - Linda Broomhead, David Broomhead and 4 grandchildren. Earl grew up in the Scotland School for Veteran's Children and went on to a distinguished career in the United States Air Force serving his country for 30 years. Earl was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the VFW
. Earl saw many changes to the world during his lifetime service and brought that experience to the Young Cadets at Agua Fria's ROTC Program for 10 years. Working with youth continued into his third career as an alcohol and drug counselor at Buckeye High School and Terros. In addition to his work with youth, Earl was also very instrumental in developing the Domestic Violence Shelter in Litchfield Park. Earl suffered a sudden stroke nine years ago while volunteering at an Open House at Luke Air Force Base. Earl will be remembered by those whose lives he touched with his quick smile, caring attitude, and love for all those who cared for him. He will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 6-8PM at Holy Cross Catholic Mortuary Chapel, 9925 West Thomas Road, Avondale, with a Rosary at 7pm. A Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 10:00AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 13720 W. Thomas Road, Avondale. Inurnment, with full military honors, will be held at 10am on Wednesday, July 3 at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Avondale, Arizona.
