Eva Raczkowski died peacefully at home in Buckeye on July 6, 2013. Eva was born in Leonard, MI on August 27, 1921 to her loving parents, John and Marianna Curzydlo. She married Frank Raczkowski on October 17, 1942 and was blessed to celebrate 67 years of marriage. Employed at Fisher Bodies in Livonia, MI, a division of General Motors, Eva retired in 1981. Upon Frank's retirement later that year, she and Frank moved from Allen Park, MI to Sun City West to enjoy the abundant sunshine and a busy retirement lifestyle. When Frank passed away on January 3, 2010, Eva moved to Buckeye to live with her daughter and family. As a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Eva took pride in her family and all of their achievements. She enjoyed family gatherings, particularly those in Michigan, and hosted many holiday celebrations and special dinners through the years for her and Frank's family members which included their parents, siblings and their spouses, and many nieces and nephews. Eva was always ready to cook and bake wonderful meals for her guests. At the center of Eva's life was her devotion to her Catholic faith. Her daily prayers were dedicated to all those she loved as well as those individuals who touched her life. Eva will be greatly missed by son Deacon Dennis Raczkowski (Lorraine) of Glendale, daughter Elaine Roffey (John) of Buckeye, son Raymond Raczkowski of Lincoln Park, MI, and daughter-in-law Maria Raczkowski of Scottsdale. Cherishing the time they shared with her are ten grandchildren, Christine (Brock), Jennifer (John), Erin, David, Jay (Pati), Julie, Mark (Jenny), Lisa (Glenn), Kelly, and Joseph (Tina) and five great-grandchildren, Brady, E'va, Nathan, Layla, and Avery. Eva was preceded in death by her parents John and Marianna, husband Frank, son Dr. Allen Raczkowski, and siblings John and Walter Curzydlo, Anna Wronski, and Elizabeth Gildersleeve. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 26 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Heritage Funeral Chapel at 6830 W. Thunderbird Road, Peoria with a Rosary at 5:00 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 6180 W. Utopia, Glendale. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Multiple Sclerosis Society, 5025 E.
