84, of Tempe passed away on December 7, 2012. Frances R Young Painter, Aug 14, 1928-Dec 7, 2012. "Frankie" was the first of 5 generations to be born in Arizona. She was raised in Phoenix by parents Lawrence & Maude Young who came to Az in the late 1800's as children. Frankie was married to Robert Painter (dec.) on Jun 3, 1950 and together they raised their children in Tempe, Az on the Painter family dairy farm. During those years on the farm they also helped foster over 20 young kids who learned to live and work in a good family environment. Frankie worked for the Juvenile Detention Center for several years teaching home economics to young people there, then worked at Pioneer Living History Museum, Phoenix Community College & Rio Salado Community college over the years. When she retired she started taking art classes and realized a talent for painting beautiful art work. Frankie is survived by her children - Maureen (Painter) Spencer (Mesa), Craig (Chandler), Robbie (Calif.), Kevin (Tucson), Scott (Tempe) & Wesley Herrera (Phoenix). Her 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. A sister Martha (Young) Lough and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews who all loved her and will miss her dearly. Memorial Services to be held on Saturday Dec 15, 2012 1 P.M. at First United Methodist - 215 E University Dr, Tempe Az.
