Dodson, Glen Russell, 89, of Mesa, AZ passed away on Oct 22, 2013. He was born in Niangua, Missouri April 6th, 1924, the youngest son of Melvin and Alma (Crawford) Dodson. Glen was the youngest and is preceded by his 2 sisters and 4 brothers Marie, Myrtle, Ervin (Shorty), Bill, Bob and Gene. Glen enlisted in the Army
on 30 Oct 1945 and was Honorable Discharged 6 Dec 1946. His Military Occupational Specialty was as Truck Driver Heavy 931. He was decorated with Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, the World War II
Victory Medal, and a Philippine Independence Ribbon. He was married on the 20th of January 1946 to Norma Lee Walker, having three sons Rus
sell, Kenneth and Wayne (Buck). Glen worked as a Barber until 1971 when he went back to school to pursue his life's dream. He graduated with honors with a Master of Arts in Art Education from Arizona State University
, working as an Art Teacher until his retirement. In his life Glen pursued many interests: painting, drawing, silver smithery, lapidary, hunting, fishing, camping. Glen is survived by Norma his loving wife; Russell, Eugenie, Kenneth, Laura, Wayne (Buck), Leslie his three sons and their wives, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Services will be held Sunday at 10:00 AM at Meldrum Mortuary 52 N. Macdonald, Mesa,
