Hyman Levin, 91, of Phoenix, passed away May 16, 2014. Hy was born in Chicago December 1, 1922. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII, in the Alaska North Pacific Arena. He moved to Phoenix in 1957 and joined Congregation Beth Israel. He was pre-deceased by his wife Martha who he had been married to for 46 years. His brother David also preceded him in death. He is survived by his 99 year old sister Frances Schain of Tucson, AZ and his 94 year old sister Mary Hackman of Jamaica, NY. Survivors also include his children Victoria (Roger) Cohen, Steven (Helene) Levin, Randy (Hope) Levin, grandchildren Jacqueline (Craig) Davidson, Joshua (Danielle) Cohen, Alison (Will) Breier, Beth Levin, David Levin, Andy Levin, as well as great-grandchildren Ryland, Jaren, Taylor, Makayla, Riley, Cassidy and Miles. As a business owner Hy was inducted into the Candy Hall of Fame in 2000 in Hershey, PA. Graveside services will be held 9:00 a.m. Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Beth Israel Cemetery, 305 S. 35th Avenue, Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to COPD Foundation, 3300 Ponce de Leon Blvd., Miami, FL 33134 or Terraces of Phoenix, c/o The Holiday Employee Fund, Att.
