Greenhoe, Jacqueline "Jackie" Lorraine
86, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on March 11, 2011 with her family at her side. Jackie was born in Flint, Michigan in 1926 to Donna and Eldon Smith and departed this world on March 11, 2013 in Phoenix, Arizona with her family at her side. Jackie grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and graduated from Ottawa Hills High School in 1944. She then attended the Western College for Women in Oxford, Ohio where she received a degree in education. She married Robert Greenhoe in June of 1948 and had two sons. In 1962 her family moved to Mesa, Arizona. She and her family lived in Mesa, Coolidge, Tucson, Green Valley and Phoenix. During her life she worked as a High School English teacher at Coolidge and Sahuarita High Schools and received a master's degree in education from Arizona State University
in 1968. In 1979 she and Robert moved to the Island of Maui in the Hawaiian Islands for two years then returned to Phoenix where she worked for many years as a literacy volunteer. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert in July, 1998. She is survived by her twin sister, Jeraldine Rector and her husband Tom of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and her sons Greg Greenhoe and his wife Shirley of Star Valley Ranch, Wyoming and Jeff Greenhoe and his wife Rita of Rocklin, California. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 15th at 10 am at the Church of the Epiphany, 8433 N. 12th St., Phoenix. Arrangements are being handled by Abel Mortuary, 1627 N. 51st. St., Phoenix In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Literacy Volunteers of Maricopa County.
