Janet Nelson

Nelson, Janet
Janet Nelson passed away at home on Monday, July 22nd, 2013 after battling a debilitating neurological condition for over six years. She never complained or questioned God and was an example to everyone on how to handle trials with faith and grace.

Aside from her family, her passion in life was teaching. She taught in the Mesa Public School district and ended her 30 year career at Sirrine Elementary. For students whose families could not afford tutoring, she always made time for them after school and on weekends. Janet created much of the science curriculum used in the district today and is known to her students as "Ms. Science". Janet supplemented her passion of teaching young minds by successfully running several businesses.

The consolation to her family is they are assured a reunion in the not too far off future. She is survived by her loving husband Doug, daughters Natasha and Chelsey, mother Margaret, four sisters, three brothers, and 24 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Samuel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to who provided tremendous support throughout Janet's illness.
