Jay Dushoff, prominent Phoenix attorney died at the age of 78 on Wednesday, March 21, 2012. A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he moved to the Valley in 1957. He graduated Central High School in Philadelphia. He went on to the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Law School. Jay was a member of a number of prominent law firms in the Valley over his 55 year career and retired in January from Gallagher & Kennedy. He has been mentioned in the annual compilation of Best Lawyer's in America since it's inception. His career was studded with a number of remarkable cases that made him a respected member of the legal community in Arizona and beyond. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife, Souheir Alkhoury; daughter, Rachel Reed Dushoff of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and son, Eric Dushoff of Seattle, Washington as well as stepson, William Alkhoury of Tempe; brothers, Ira Dushoff and his wife Judy of Jacksonville, Florida and Lee Dushoff and his wife Elaine of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Services will be held March 23, 2012 at 12:00 pm at Sinai Mortuary Chapel, 4538 N. 16th St. in Phoenix with graveside interment to follow at Mt. Sinai Cemetery.
