Wardell, Jay Riley
Dearly loved by his wife, family, and friends, passed away on June 8th 2013 following a courageous three year battle with cancer. Jay is survived by his wife Ruth Michael (Messick), his father Richard, brother Brian (wife Susan), step mother Fran, and his beloved dogs Emilie, Bentley, and Fitz who were "his kids". Born on August 20th 1952 in Des Moines, Iowa, Jay lived in many states but called Miami Florida his true home. He attended Ransom Everglades High School in Miami Florida and graduated from the University of Florida
in Gainesville. Before redirecting his career into Automotive Finance, for 10 years he flew as a Senior Flight Attendant for Eastern Airlines. Most recently, Jay worked as Finance Manager for Scottsdale Ferrari. Jay was a sports enthusiast. He was a huge fan of the Miami Dolphins as well as following the AZ Cardinals and AZ Diamondbacks. Jay had an amazing sense of humor enjoyed by everyone he met and which won him many lifelong friends. He was an extremely positive and outgoing person and a friend you could count on. He loved travel, spending time with his family, his friends, and his dogs. Jay will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives he touched. A memorial service will be held June 22nd at PV United Methodist Church.
